Fencing
for Every Level
From your first lunge to national competition, our coaches guide fencers of every age and ability with programs built around real progress.
Private Lessons
In a private lesson, a student receives personalized, one-on-one instruction from the coach. This is where problems in technique are identified and corrected before they become habit — the fastest way to teach new fencers the basics without the distractions and slower pace of a class.
Experienced fencers benefit too: the nuances of form and strategy can be developed in far greater detail than a class allows. Strengths are enhanced, weaknesses mitigated, and individual style optimized. Lessons run 25 minutes; advanced fencers may opt for 45 minutes (not recommended for new or intermediate fencers, or those under 14).
One-on-One
Group Classes
In group classes, students participate together and practice skill-building exercises as a group. The session is supervised, though the scrutiny each fencer receives is less intense than in a private lesson. Skills are demonstrated and taught, then practiced with fellow members.
Classes generally run one hour to ninety minutes, depending on the skill level and subject matter — the energy of training with peers, structured around clear instruction.
Train Together
Open Fencing
During open fencing, the floor is devoted to bouting for anyone present. Five full-length grounded strips with state-of-the-art scoring let ten fencers bout simultaneously. It's a time to practice skills from classes and lessons, try new strategies, or simply have fun and let off some steam.
Open fencing is available to members and non-members alike. It's included with all membership levels; non-members pay a floor fee. Open fencing is possible on any strip at any time during open hours, so long as the strip isn't being used for a class or private lesson.
